Quiet location. Charming spacious room. Comfortable beds. Loved the thoughtful touches like the tea station and nooks. Host was wonderful!
Parking was reimbursed but we had to use street parking that had a meter.

Very nice house in a beautiful and peaceful neighborhood. Lots of shops, restaurants, cafe and park just nearby. The family suite is just perfect.

We really enjoyed our stay at Sheen’s House. The room was clean, spacious, nicely decorated and well-equipped at a very good price. I really like the kitchen area. Tea, coffee, utensils, sink, microwave, kettle, mini fridge, even knives and a cutting board are provided, which made it convenient for us to cut fruits and store beverages. It is also very generous of the host to provide sparkling water bottles and milk free of charge. The bathroom has been refurbished so it’s new and shiny. I’m impressed with how the owner kept close contact with us via Booking message. He sent us a lot of essential information before travelling, recommendations of places to visit and eat as well as clear instructions on how to check in and check out, which was extremely useful for first comers like us.
I suggest having a note on how to adjust the hot and cold water in the bath tub :)). It can be quite confusing if you haven’t used a similar model before. Fortunately, we managed to have warm water after asking the owner for help :)))

This as an old family home which makes you feel like you are living in Edinburgh, not just visiting. The location is perfect—Marchmont is a charming neighbourhood near the Meadows, the university campus, and the Old Town, with lovely restaurants and cosy coffee shops nearby. The rooms are comfortable and spacious—we found ourselves lingering in the mornings just to soak it all in.

The room was clean and very nice. There was nothing missing in the kitchen. The information before arrival and in the room was very good. John is a perfect host. He answers your questions quickly. We had an extra request, he helped us without hesitation. The room price is reasonable for the city. If you are planning to stay in this city, there is no need to look elsewhere. You will definitely be satisfied.

Great location for a stay during the Fringe. Easy walking distance into the centre while being on a nice, quiet road. Beautifully decorated, really cozy room with a handy small kitchen and a good bathroom. Had a lovely night here and would return!

Amazing location right beside the Meadows, various cafes and Tills Bookshop. There were books on the shelf and I loved the decor. There was a small TV with a chromecast so you can watch Netflix etc if you want. The kitchen has a sink, toaster, etc. Not sure about an oven but we didn’t cook anyway.

This is a beautiful place. We left early so I don’t know about breakfast, but it had absolutely everything we needed. It was a lovely, comfortable, clean room that had a great location. Street parking was easy enough with the friendly host’s help. The hosts have also thought to provide information on so many things about the room. And how do they have this gorgeous hardwood and keep it so quiet? Who knows, but I couldn’t hear anyone else in the building. I’d definitely recommend this place to others and would stay again.

The attention we received from John and his brother was excellent. John answered our questions over the phone, even before the trip. Having fresh water in the fridge, coffee, sugar, milk was very useful.Many thanks to both of them.
I had difficulty climbing the stairs. From the photos I knew what was there, but for people with limited mobility it is advisable to stay in the rooms on the lower floors.

Host was extremely helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Location just outside the (old) city centre but still within walking distance. Surroundings very quiet, so we had a good rest.
The beds were a wee bit hard.

The room was so peaceful and spacious, the host was very communicative and all the instructions clear. The accomodation is not far from the city centre – a 12-20min walk away, depending on where you’re going. The room was very clean, bright and nicely decorated.

Stayed there because of its location to Edinburgh castle and the tattoo. Easy 20 min walk. Nice big room. Was able to park in the street in front. Excellent information supplied re restaurants cafés etc
Thought it a bit expensive considering they didn’t offer breakfast but booked it because of its location.

The staff was fabulous. The location was perfect, with a good view of the city and near to the Meadows. The rooms were comfortable and had space for even six people.
Slightly arduous for us to carry four big suitcases to the second floor.

The location was wonderful–a pleasant walk across The Meadows from the fun and interesting but tourist-intense area of Edinburgh. There were many interesting small shops and restaurants within easy walking distance. Also some beautiful residential neighborhoods. The house itself was comfortable, with excelent mattresses and lots of hot water in the shower. The hot water kettle and tea (with little container of milk!) was appreciated. The decor was quirky, lika bit like staying at someone’s aunt’s house. The welcoming csgt agt the from gate was a nice touch.

Conveniently accessible from the city centre and has a great pub in the vicinity. The hosts were always there to make our stay comfortable. They ensured we got the ground floor room given our heavy luggage.

Breakfast was not expected or included in the price, however free milk and bottled water was supplied. A detailed welcome pack was incredibly helpful for locating bakeries,cafes, restaurants and alike. The welcome pack gave a step by step guide to where to park and the procedure for displaying the parking permits. Early contact with the establishment can sort out any potential problems with your trip. Very friendly and prompt reply.

Free parking during night and weekend just in front of the house. Restaurants and supermarket nearby. Very quiet neighborhood. Powder coffee and bags, tee bags, sparkling water and milk freely available in the room as well as plates, cutlery, cups, glasses, kettle and coffee machine. John has been an excellent host, very responsive to messages and providing very detailed information. We would comeback.

The house was very beautiful and its location was quite central. In the double room, we had everything we needed, and the kitchen area was very practical. There was always staff available that we could reach when needed, and we could even get responses late at night. We felt away from the city’s noise, yet still within the heart of the city. The landlord was very kind. We thank John and his team very much.

The host gave fantastic instructions and was very responsive. The space was bright, clean and airy, the beds were really comfortable and offered complimentary cold milk and fizzy water. The kitchenette solutions for the family suite were very clever (ex. a storage container with a dish rack inside, to help you move the dishes safely after you washed them in the bathrooms sink).
Beware that the steps leading to the family suite are VERY steep and narrow. The “suite” itself is made up of two separate bedrooms and a bathroom, all opening up into the corridor/staircase. There is no common space (with the exception of a tiny kitchenette/breakfast nook). If you’re a family that wants to spend time together in the evening – or even discuss next-day plans – you’re out of luck (the voice carries in the staircase and posted signs ask you not to talk in the corridor).

Everything about the accommodation was excellent. Very easy to communicate with owners from time of booking till when we were leaving. Great location near lovely park in quiet area…15 minutes walk to city centre. Very comfortable and clean. Fantastic customer service. Useful information about local eateries shops etc provided. Highly recommend.
There was nothing I disliked about this accomodation.

The stay was very pleasant. The host John was extremely friendly and helpful. The apartment is in very good condition and lovingly furnished. The beds were very comfortable and the location is very central. It’s only a10-15 minutes walk to the royal mile. There is everything you need for your daily needs nearby (pub, cafe, small supermarket, restaurants). Parking is free on weekends. There is also a parking garage nearby (8min. walk). I would particularly like to emphasize John’s hospitality and willingness to help. I had a technical problem with my motorcycle and he immediately offered me help. THANK YOU VERY MUCH again for your support !!!

Facilities and location were excellent. It was really easy to access the centre of town. The owner and staff were helpful and accommodating with early drop off and late pick up of our luggage.

The ease of check in (the owner keeps on top of messages/providing info), the cleanliness and comfort, (nice extra touch of fresh milk and orange juice). The area has an array of amenities and is walking distance to the meadows/local theatres.
