Checking in and Frequently Asked Questions
Obtaining the Code for the Self Check in Procedure
We send the information about SELF-CHECK ON THE MORNING OF YOUR ARRIVAL (before 12.00 in the morning).
THIS mesage WILL HAVE THE CODE FOR THE SAFE (WHERE THE KEYS ARE) AND INSTRUCTIONS ABOUT HOW TO ACCESS YOUR ROOM.
Sending the check in message the morning of your arrival means that it is easy for you to find.
To receive this message – and get into your room or rooms – make sure that you are able to access messages from us on the platform that you booked on!

What time is check-in and check-out at Sheens House?
CHECK IN IS AT 3 UNLESS YOU HAVE AGREED AN EARLIER TIME BEFOREHAND.
It might be possible to check in EARLIER – contact us first, will you – but how early depends very much on whether the rooms were occupied the night before, when the previous guests leave and how many rooms and which rooms we have to do that day.
During high season especially, it is very unlikely that the room you have booked will not have been occupied the night before. As check out is at 11.00 and it takes two cleaners 3 hours to do all the rooms, it is difficult for us to guarantee that your rooms will be ready at, say, 10.00 in the morning.
However, we will do what we can to get your room ready as quickly as is humanely possible.
DROPPING OFF BAGS
It is always possible to DROP OFF YOUR BAGS at any time AFTER 8.30 a.m. on the day of your arrival but also SEND US A MESSAGE FIRST, will you? If the keys are available when you come to drop off your bags, you will be able to pick them up at the same time. If the previous guests have not left yet, we will put your keys in the safe so that you can check in at your convenience later in the day.
Is parking available for guests at Sheens House?
We are centrally located and do not have off road parking. However we can offer you free parking tickets but PLEASE INFORM US after reading the info below, if you will need parking tickets …. before arriving if possible. That way we can put the tickets in your room and they will be available for you, with the instructions, on your arrival.

Have You Obtained your Electronic Travel Auhtorisation?
Remember that you will need an ETA (for non-Uk nationals)
If you are coming from abroad and you have not already realised, unfortunately, you will require either a visa or ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORISATION (ETA) to travel to the UK. As you will most probably be travelling for tourism, you will require an ETA. The cost is £10 (March 2025) and apparently it only takes a few minutes to do. Everyone travelling needs to get an ETA , including babies and children. You can apply for other people and it is valid for two years.
The best way of applying for an ETA is by downloading the ETA app.
